So I've finished shooting my A level coursework (mostly) and I have my first draft. I'll admit I let pride get the better of me and overestimated my skills- I'm not the best film maker alive yet. After lowering my expectations, I'm happy with the results so far, but there's still a way to go. Lessons taken away: Actors need strong direction, think about angles always- they'll save the framing, Brightness and contrast are my best friends, be more authoritarian with the tripod, don't doubt the writing on set and most importantly I'll never be satisfied. I've applied for a BFI course, and I hope I get on because I'd like to try doing one job really well- rather than every job as best I can. Confidence punctured, outlook positive. Film looking good. -the filoman woman (^that's me^)
